In industrial production projects, the commonly used desulfurization method is limestone gypsum desulfurization. The working principle is: the limestone material is added with water to make slurry as absorbent and pumped into the absorption tower to fully contact and mix with the flue gas. The sulfur dioxide in the flue gas reacts with the calcium carbonate in the slurry and the air blown from the lower part of the tower to generate calcium sulfate. After the calcium sulfate reaches a certain saturation, it crystallizes to form gypsum dihydrate. The gypsum slurry discharged from the absorption tower is concentrated and dehydrated to make its water content less than 10%, and then sent to the gypsum warehouse by the conveyor.
The desulfurized flue gas is removed by the mist eliminator, heated by the heat exchanger, and then discharged into the atmosphere by the chimney. Since the absorbent slurry in the absorption tower contacts with the flue gas through circulation, the utilization rate of the absorbent is very high, the calcium sulfur ratio is low, and the desulfurization efficiency can be greater than 95%. Limestone material for desulfurization shall have a particle size of 250 mesh or 325 mesh (45 μ m) .The desulfurization effect of 325 mesh limestone material is better. For the preparation of limestone products, basically, the mill mainly adopts Raymond mill, hanging roller mill or European version mill. After competition in the market, with the improvement of material fineness requirements and the need of environmental protection, most power plants began to adopt the European version pulverizer scheme for desulfurization and limestone preparation.
