Feldspar Grinding Processing – A Core Link in the Ceramic and Glass Industries

Feldspar is a common non-metallic mineral with good fluxing properties, which is an important raw material for the ceramic and glass industries. Its grinding processing is crucial to improving the performance of ceramic and glass products, as the fineness of feldspar powder directly affects the melting temperature and product quality. The feldspar grinding project introduced here is located in a ceramic industrial park in southern China, with a designed hourly output of 6-10 tph, an output fineness of 120-250 meshes, and a annual production capacity of 50,000 tons, mainly providing raw materials for the ceramic and glass industries.

The project adopts a complete set of feldspar grinding production line equipment, including a vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, impact crusher, Raymond mill, air classifier, pulse dust collector, and conveyor system. The processing process is as follows: the raw feldspar ore is first transported to the vibrating feeder, which uniformly feeds the ore into the jaw crusher for primary crushing, reducing the ore size to 50-80mm. Then, the ore is sent to the impact crusher for secondary crushing to obtain particles of less than 15mm, which are then conveyed to the Raymond mill for grinding. The air classifier in the production line can accurately classify the powder, ensuring that the fineness of the finished product meets the requirements of ceramic and glass production.

The feldspar powder produced by this project has clear classification of uses according to fineness. When the output fineness is 120-180 meshes, it is used in the ceramic industry as a raw material for ceramic glazes and bodies, which can reduce the melting temperature of the ceramic, improve the smoothness and durability of the glaze, and enhance the strength of the ceramic body. When the fineness is 180-250 meshes, it is used in the glass industry as a raw material for glass production, which can improve the clarity and strength of the glass, and reduce the production cost. In addition, it is also used in the abrasive industry as a raw material for abrasives, with broad market demand.

The project pays attention to energy conservation and environmental protection. The Raymond mill adopted in the project has high grinding efficiency and low energy consumption, which can save 20% of energy compared with traditional grinding equipment. The production line is equipped with a high-efficiency dust removal system, which can collect more than 99.8% of the dust generated during the production process, avoiding environmental pollution. The project also has a perfect equipment maintenance system to ensure the stable operation of the production line and improve production efficiency. This feldspar grinding project not only realizes the rational development and utilization of local feldspar resources but also provides high-quality raw materials for the ceramic and glass industries, promoting the development of the local industrial economy.
