Calcium Carbonate Grinding Processing – High-Efficiency Production for High-Value Applications

Calcium carbonate is a widely used non-metallic mineral, which can be divided into natural calcium carbonate and synthetic calcium carbonate. Its grinding processing is the core link to realize its high-value utilization, as the finer the calcium carbonate powder, the higher its purity and value, and the wider its application scope. The calcium carbonate grinding project described in this article is located in a chemical industrial park in southern China, with a total investment of 8 million yuan, a designed hourly output of 20-30 tph, and an output fineness of 150-325 meshes, which is mainly used for high-end industrial fillers and food additives.

The project adopts a high-efficiency ultra-fine grinding production line, which is composed of a jaw crusher, impact crusher, ultra-fine mill, air classifier, pulse dust collector, and automatic control system. The processing process is as follows: the raw calcium carbonate ore is first crushed into particles of less than 20mm by a crusher, then sent to the ultra-fine mill for grinding. The ultra-fine mill adopts advanced grinding technology, which can grind the ore into fine powder with uniform particle size. The air classifier can accurately classify the powder, and the qualified powder is collected by the pulse dust collector, while the unqualified powder is returned to the mill for re-grinding. The automatic control system of the production line can realize the automatic operation of the entire production process, reducing manual operation and improving production efficiency.

The calcium carbonate powder produced by this project has high purity and uniform fineness, and its uses are very extensive. When the output fineness is 150-200 meshes, it is used as an industrial filler in plastics, rubber, and paper industries, which can reduce the production cost of products and improve their mechanical properties. When the fineness is 250-325 meshes, it is used as a food additive, which is added to food to improve the texture and nutritional value of food. In addition, it is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as a raw material for antacids, and in the paint industry as a pigment filler, with high market value.

The project pays attention to energy conservation and environmental protection. The ultra-fine mill adopted in the project has high energy efficiency, and under the same finished product fineness and motor power, its production capacity is twice that of traditional ball mills, and the energy consumption is reduced by 30%. The production line is equipped with a high-efficiency dust removal system, which can collect more than 99.9% of the dust generated during the production process, avoiding environmental pollution.

At the same time, the project has established a perfect quality inspection system, and each batch of finished products will be tested for purity, fineness, and whiteness to ensure that it meets the national standards and customer requirements. This calcium carbonate grinding project not only realizes the high-value utilization of calcium carbonate resources but also promotes the development of the local chemical industry, creating good economic and social benefits.
