Gypsum Grinding Processing – Meeting the Diversified Needs of the Construction and Medical Industries

Gypsum, chemically known as calcium sulfate dihydrate, is a versatile non-metallic mineral that exists widely in nature and can also be produced synthetically through flue gas desulfurization processes. Its grinding processing is crucial to expanding its application fields, as the fineness of gypsum powder directly affects its performance and application effect. The gypsum grinding project introduced here is located in a new material industrial park in eastern China, with a designed hourly output of 5-8 tph, an output fineness of 120-400 meshes, and a annual production capacity of 40,000 tons, covering the needs of construction, medical, and industrial filler fields.

The project adopts advanced vertical roller mill equipment, which integrates drying, grinding, and classification functions, and has the advantages of high grinding efficiency, small floor area, and low energy consumption. The processing process of the project is simple and efficient: the raw gypsum ore is first crushed into particles of less than 15mm by a crusher, then sent to the vertical roller mill for grinding. The mill is equipped with a built-in dryer, which can dry the gypsum ore with a moisture content of up to 15% while grinding, ensuring the quality of the finished powder. The air classifier in the mill can accurately control the fineness of the product, and the finished powder with different fineness can be collected separately according to customer needs.

The gypsum powder produced by this project has different uses according to different fineness. When the output fineness is 120-200 meshes, it is mainly used in the construction industry, such as the production of drywall, sheetrock, and plaster, which has the advantages of light weight, fire resistance, and sound insulation. When the fineness is 250-325 meshes, it is used in the medical industry as a raw material for medical gypsum, which is used to make orthopedic fixation materials, with good biocompatibility and stability. When the fineness reaches 325-400 meshes, it is used as an industrial filler in plastics, rubber, and paint industries, which can improve the toughness and wear resistance of products.

The project has strict quality control measures, and the raw materials are tested before processing to ensure that the purity of the gypsum ore meets the requirements. During the grinding process, the fineness and moisture content of the powder are monitored in real time to ensure the stability of the product quality. The production line is equipped with a full-set environmental protection equipment, including dust removal, noise reduction, and wastewater treatment systems, which fully meets the national environmental protection requirements. In addition, the project has a professional technical team to provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of the equipment, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the production line. With the continuous development of the construction and medical industries, the market demand for high-quality gypsum powder is increasing, and this project has good economic benefits and development prospects.
