The standard of machine-made sand is the standard of construction sand, which is generally divided into natural sand and artificial sand. Rock particles with particle size less than 5mm formed by natural conditions of natural sand. Artificial sand, namely machine-made sand, refers to rock particles with a particle size less than 4.75mm that are mechanically broken and screened after soil removal. Sand specifications are divided into coarse, medium and fine according to fineness modulus.

The grain size distribution of sand refers to the proportion of sand size particles. If the sand is of the same thickness, the gap is larger. If the sand with two particle sizes is matched, the gap will be reduced. If the sand with three particle sizes is matched, the gap will be smaller. It can be seen that the porosity of sand depends on the matching degree of each particle size of sand. 2. Specification of machine-made sand: the specification of sand is divided into coarse, medium and fine according to fineness modulus. The fineness modulus of coarse sand is 3.7~3.1, that of medium sand is 3.3~3.0, and that of fine sand is 2.2~1.6.
3. According to the definition of machine-made sand: rock particles with particle size less than 4.75mm are mechanically broken and sieved after soil removal. However, it does not include particles of soft rock and weathered rock.
