Wet magnetic separators are common iron ore dressing equipment (iron ore magnetic separators) and manganese ore dressing equipment (manganese ore magnetic separators), and are mainstream high intensity magnetic separators. Common faults of wet magnetic separators include the following 4 types and solutions:
1. The magnetic block in the cylinder falls off. At this time, the cylinder makes a clattering sound. If it is serious, the cylinder skin will be broken. At this time, the machine should be stopped immediately for maintenance to prevent the magnetic block from falling off again. During maintenance, a thin copper sheet can be used to enclose the magnetic system.
2. The mouth of the semi countercurrent bottom blown water pipe is sometimes blocked due to calcium deposition, resulting in ore deposition at the pipe mouth or blockage of the working gap. If this problem is suspected, the machine should be shut down for inspection.
Sometimes the mouth of the blow off water pipe will be blocked, but there are sundries in the working gap, which causes the working gap to be blocked. The fault phenomenon is that there is no concentrate in the cylinder skin. At this time, the magnetic machine can insert a pressure water hose from the ore feeding place to flush out the blockage.
3. If there is a loophole in the tank body, such as a plate or tailing pipe in the middle of the semi countercurrent tank body, the raw ore will be short circuited into the tailings, which will increase the tailing grade. If the tailing grade suddenly rises and remains high, it can be suspected that the ore leakage is from the tank.
4. If obstacles enter the magnetic separator, the light ones will scratch the cylinder skin, and the heavy ones will jam the cylinder or scratch the cylinder skin. In case of this phenomenon, stop the machine immediately to remove the obstacles.
It is forbidden to drop bolts, nuts, iron wires and other metal objects into the magnetic separator at ordinary times. In order to prevent large ores from entering the magnetic separator with ore slurry, screen plates should be added at the ore feeding place to block large blocks and sundries, and they should be cleaned frequently.
