Phosphorus Ore Powder Processing: A Key Raw Material for Agricultural and Chemical Industries

Phosphorus ore, a non-metallic mineral rich in phosphorus, is a critical raw material for the production of fertilizers, chemicals, and other industrial products. Its powder form is essential for efficient processing and utilization, making phosphorus ore powder processing an important link in the agricultural and chemical supply chains. This article explores the details of phosphorus ore powder processing, including production parameters, applications, and a project description, highlighting its importance in supporting global food security and industrial development.

The key parameters for phosphorus ore powder processing are production capacity and出料 fineness, which are tailored to meet the specific needs of fertilizer and chemical production. For this phosphorus ore grinding project, the production capacity is set at 15 tph, with an出料 fineness of 120 mesh. The 15 tph capacity is suitable for large-scale fertilizer production, while the 120-mesh fineness ensures that the powder has a high surface area, enhancing its reactivity in chemical reactions (such as acid leaching to produce phosphoric acid). Phosphorus ore has a Mohs hardness of 3-5, making it moderately difficult to grind, requiring efficient grinding equipment to ensure production efficiency.

Phosphorus ore powder's primary application is in the production of phosphate fertilizers, which are essential for crop growth and food production. It is used to produce triple superphosphate (TSP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), and other compound fertilizers, providing phosphorus nutrients for crops to improve yield and quality. In the chemical industry, phosphorus ore powder is used to produce phosphoric acid, which is a key raw material for the production of detergents, food additives, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, it finds applications in the metallurgical industry as a flux and in the production of animal feed additives.

The phosphorus ore powder processing process involves raw material crushing, grinding, classification, and beneficiation (optional). First, raw phosphorus ore is crushed into small particles (30-50mm) using a jaw crusher and cone crusher. The crushed material is then fed into a Raymond mill or vertical mill, which grinds the particles into fine powder. A classifier is used to separate the powder by fineness, ensuring that only 120-mesh powder is collected. For low-grade phosphorus ore, beneficiation processes such as flotation may be used to increase the phosphorus content before grinding. The processed powder is stored in silos and transported to fertilizer or chemical factories for further processing.
